Our Christmas Party took place in Wolverhampton on Monday 19th December 2022. This was an opportunity for our young service users to meet others affected by Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia blood conditions.
These children often feel different to their peers and face increased isolation.
Being able to spend time with others going through similar experiences can be incredibly comforting.
This was a much-needed break from school and hospital stays. At the Christmas Party, children were able to get involved with board games, pass the parcel and musical chairs. The party ended with pizza and Christmas presents for every child who attended.
"We absolutely love everything about the events. I love that it's bringing more awareness for people and the warriors feel like they belong in the community"- Parent of a child affected by Sickle cell.
At the SCTSP, we believe every child deserves to experience opening gifts and the joy of Christmas. We are grateful to have been able to provide our young service users with a Christmas Party thanks to the Grantham Yorke Trust.
